Violeta Luna, PhD
I am the founder of Benáh Counseling, LLC. The word Benah comes from biblical Aramaic and means “to build” or “to rebuild.” This reflects my vision for counseling: supporting individuals as they rebuild their lives after difficult experiences and navigate life transitions with greater clarity, resilience, and hope. Counseling offers a supportive space to process difficult experiences, regain perspective, and begin rebuilding with intention.
I work with diverse populations and approach counseling with empathy, professionalism, and respect for each person’s story. As a licensed counselor in Florida (telehealth only) and Maryland (telehealth and in-person), I provide evidence-based treatments for a range of emotional and psychological concerns. My clinical approaches include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and other integrative strategies tailored to each client’s needs and goals.
I hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Counselor Education and Supervision and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Regent University, Virginia. I am also a National Certified Counselor (NCC) and a Board Certified-Telemental Health Counselor (BC-TMH) through theNational Board for Certified Counselors (NBCC).
My EMDR training includes EMDR I and II, along with specialized training in the Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (R-TEP) and Group Traumatic Episode Protocol (G-TEP) for addressing recent and acute trauma.
In addition to my clinical work, I serve as a volunteer chaplain with the Billy Graham Rapid Response Team, providing emotional and spiritual care during crisis and disaster deployments.
I invite you to explore our counseling services to learn how we can support your healing and growth.
